Game Of Thrones is one of the hottest TV shows on the small screen right now, and excited die-hard fans are waiting in anticipation for spoilers and trailers for the new season 7 to be released. For anyone that hasn’t watched Game Of Thrones previously, it is available exclusively to Sky customers on Sky One, but is regularly re-run on other American sister stations once it has premiered.

The show is set in a medieval fantasy land called Westeros, and focuses around power struggles between different characters who are all attempting to take The Iron Throne and rule the kingdom.

As is so often the case with big hitting TV shows, the writers of the show regularly give interviews, even during filming for a new season, and when the show isn’t on the screen and the cast of GOT offer no exception to this. Writer George R.R Martin has again made some controversial comments at the Guadalajara International Book Fair as to the happenings that will take place during the next season. Having insisted previously that “Winter Is Coming” he has now said that the sixth instalment of his book series which is titled “The Winds Of Winter” will be even more brutal and gory than the last (a tough ask).

Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin said “I’ve been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming, winter is the time when things die and cold and ice and darkness fill the world” adding credibility to fans theories that one of the shows main antagonists The White Walkers, zombie-like warriors made from ice, will make an attack on Westeros this time around. He then jokingly added “This is not going to be the happy feel-good show that people may be hoping for. Some of the characters are in very dark places."

His comments have only sparked even more media hype than usual, as avid fans and journalists alike take to the Internet sharing their thoughts on what they think will happen in season 7, fuelling speculation of what will happen to some of our favourite characters on the show.

One thing is for sure, Game Of Thrones is one hot TV series and simply cannot be missed having been one of the most successful TV shows of all time consistently for past 6 or so years, it has broken multiple successful TV audience records, and as the show’s fan base has swelled it has also been the receiver of numerous nominations at many TV awards since it first reached our screens.
